More drilling has been scheduled by London-based BP in the company’s producing Herschel Field in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The #4 OCS G09821 will be in the western half of Mississippi Canyon Block 520 and area water depth is 6,600 ft. The company’s offsetting #3 (ST) OCS G09821 was completed in late 2018 as an oil producer with no other details available. First production from BP’s Herschel project was reported in 2004: two Middle Miocene wells produced through perforations at 16,413-16,567 ft and 17,136-17,248 ft have recovered 25 MMbbl of crude and 30 Bcf of gas through 2018.
