Description
Beacon Offshore Energy is under way at an exploratory test at its Monarch prospect in Green Canyon Block 943. The #1 OCS G36061 is in the eastern half of the block with a planned bottomhole to the east in Green Canyon Block 944. Water depth in the area is 5,375 ft. Green Canyon Block 988 (OCS G35417) to the south is also part of the Monarch prospect. The only prior drilling on any of the three tracts is Chevron's #1 (BP) OCS G18461 in the southern portion of Block 943. It was drilled in 2004 to a depth of 30,453 ft.
