Baton Rouge-based Pennington Oil & Gas Interests LLC reported a Bayou Latenache Field discovery in Pointe Coupee Parish, La. Located in irregular Section 19-5s-7e, #1 J.S. Kean et al was tested flowing 70 bbl of 48-degree-gravity oil, 400 Mcf of gas and 80 bbl of water per day from Wilcox at 11,736-46 ft. The directional venture was drilled to 14,730 ft. It was tested on a 9/64-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 1,550 psi and a shut-in tubing pressure of 2,700 psi. Pennington reopened Bayou Latenache Field in late 2014 with a well also named #1 J.S. Kean et al. It is in irregular Section 39-5s-7e and was tested flowing 160 bbl of 48-degree-gravity crude, 1.4 MMcf of gas and 371 bbl of water per day from Wilcox at 14,348-64 ft.
