Acquired Tobin map/ directional survey database.

The geophysical productions division of TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co. ASA, Oslo, (Oslo: TGS) has acquired an extensive directional survey database from privately held, Denver-based P2 Energy Solutions for an undisclosed cost.

P2 Energy's Tobin map database contains more than 38,000 directional surveys, which are summaries of geometric information that provides a detailed 3-D view of a well's path in the subsurface.

In conjunction with the agreement, TGS and P2 will share some U.S. well header information, such as general location, name and depth.

TGS provides global geoscience data products and services to the oil and gas industry.

TGS geologic products senior vice president John Adamick says, "P2's Tobin map data is well-known for its high-quality directional survey processing, and they bring a wealth of expertise to help TGS grow this division of the business. These directional surveys are a natural companion to our industry-leading digital well log database."
