BPZ Resources Inc., Houston, (NYSE: BPZ) has engaged Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC as its financial advisor to assist in pursuing joint-venture partnerships and potential farm-outs for some or all of the company's assets, and options for financing its operations in northwest Peru.

BPZ president and chief executive Manolo Zuniga says, "The company has retained Credit Suisse to identify partners and help evaluate and negotiate potential joint-venture partnerships to further strengthen the company and maximize the tremendous potential of our assets for our shareholders."

BPZ has licenses covering approximately 2.2 million acres in northwestern Peru. It also owns a 10% working interest in a producing property in southwest Ecuador.
