Brazilian oil company Petrobras plans to acquire three concessions in southern Argentina from Noble Energy Inc., Houston, (NYSE: NBL) for US$117.5 million. Noble will sell its interest in the El Tordillo, La Tapera and Puesto Quiroga concessions. Production is approximately 2,850 barrels of oil per day. Noble chairman, president and CEO Charles D. Davidson says, "Noble Energy continues to focus its attention and capital in areas that provide significant growth potential for the company while divesting noncore assets. The sale of our Argentina assets is another step in that process." The effective date is July 1, 2007. Noble operates onshore and offshore in the U.S. and internationally in China, Ecuador, the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea, West Africa and Suriname.
