Four Hart Energy Publishing submissions were deemed award winning by the Houston Chapter of the Business Marketing Association at their annual awards banquet Nov. 17, 2009. A Lantern Award was given to the Gasification News Web site in the category of Website(s) Most Improved – Budget under $24,999 (Judging online; include password if required and must have the old and new site for comparison). Lance Kent and Monique Hitchings accepted the award on behalf of Hart. Awards of Excellence medals were given for UGcenter.com, Vision and the Unconventional Gas Playbook Series. Created more than two decades ago, the BMA Lantern Awards of Texas recognizes top-quality creative and strategic business-to-business marketing communications. Now Texas’ premiere awards event, the Lantern Awards Gala highlights the finest work in B2B marketing communications. Why am I blogging about this? Because I’ve never won anything before! Even when I was the highest grade in my Spanish class the award was given to the most improved. Spanish is my first language. I am on of several editors who update UGcenter.com every day (Peggy Williams of OGI and Ann Priestman of UNGR newsletter do also). UGcenter.com — The Unconventional Gas Center — is the online business-development tool for profitable unconventional-resource exploration and exploitation globally. Since it is a subscriber-only Web site, daily and constant update is of upmost importance. And for those of you who have never been to the site… THERE’S A LOT OF INFORMATION IN THERE!!!! Get to know UGcenter.com. Click here to take a virtual tour! Yes, I do realize that an Award of Excellence medal is not the top prize, but I’m happy with the medal and have proudly worn it. Hopefully next year the glassware will get bigger, but for now this suits us just fine! And on this week of Thanksgiving, I’m grateful! To visit our award-winning Gasification News site, click here. One last quick note, last year, our very own E&P Buzz won the Lantern Award trophy!
