Venture Global LNG Inc. entered into a 20-year agreement with Électricité de France SA (EDF) on Feb. 25 to supply one million tonnes per annum (MTPA) from its Plaquemines LNG export facility in Louisiana.
Venture Global previously sold 2.5 MTPA from the facility, which is located in Plaquemines Parish, La., under a 20-year agreement to Poland’s PGNiG.
The agreement with EDF is effective at the commercial operation date of the facility.
Venture Global is expected to make a final investment decision on the facility early in 2020 with start-up targeted for late 2022. The project has received its final authorizations from both the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of Energy.
The company is also currently constructing the Calcasieu Pass LNG project in Cameron Parish, La., from which the Plaquemines facility utilizes an identical configuration, according to the Venture Global press release.
