Tallgrass Energy LP unveiled plans on Feb. 11 to establish a presence in the nation’s energy hub in order to enhance its customer relationships.
The Leawood, Kan.-based midstream energy infrastructure company, which operates across 11 states, said it intends to open a new office in Houston where Damon Daniels, Tallgrass’ new chief commercial officer, will be based.
“Damon joining Tallgrass creates the opportunity for us to establish an office in Houston, which will strengthen Tallgrass’ commercial presence and proximity to so many key partners,” said Tallgrass President Matthew P. Sheehy in a statement welcoming him to the company. He will report directly to Sheehy.
Daniels’ career in the energy business spans tenures at both Phillips 66 and Energy Transfer LP. He has also previously advised and represented energy companies as an energy attorney for various leading law firms, according to the Tallgrass release.
Most recently, he served as general manager of pipeline and terminals business development for Phillips 66 where he led the origination of new capital projects for crude oil and refined products logistics infrastructure and the commercial structuring and implementation of joint ventures for its new midstream projects.
