Eni Oman BV in partnership with Oman Oil Co. Exploration and Production said Dec. 11 it has awarded Shearwater GeoServices a seismic survey in Block 52, offshore Oman.
The survey, due to commence later this year, will be conducted by the Polar Empress and will take approximately three months to complete. The survey consists of 2,500 sq km (965 sq miles) 3-D, additional 800 km (497 miles) 2-D acquisition and data processing.
Further, Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd. (ONGC) has awarded Shearwater a 3-D broadband marine seismic acquisition contract for the planned 2018-2019 field season. The surveys will take five months to complete, covering approximately 2000 sq km (772 sq miles), with the main streamer vessel mobilizing in fourth-quarter 2018.
