Brazil’s state-run oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA said Feb. 20 it had started oil and gas production at the P-76 platform, located in the Búzios Field within the pre-salt region of Bacia de Santos.
The platform could produce 150,000 barrels per day of oil and 6 million cubic meters a day of gas, Petrobras said. It is the second platform to enter into operation this year, out of an expected total of four.
The Búzios Field was discovered in 2010. The field started production in April 2018, and another platform, the P-77, is expected to start-up this year.
Earlier this month, Petrobras reported it had started production of oil and gas through P-67 platform, in the Lula Norte area, also located in the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin.
Reuters contributed to this report.
