There were several executive promotions at Plains All American Pipeline LP (PAA), the company said July 13 with its general partner Plains GP Holdings. The promotions are effective immediately.

John R. Keffer and Sam N. Brown each became senior vice presidents. Jeremy L. Goebel and James H. Pinchback each became vice presidents.

“I am very pleased to announce these well-deserved promotions. These are all very talented and driven professionals that have each contributed significantly to PAA’s success and overall growth,” said Greg L. Armstrong, chairman and CEO.

“In addition to recognizing their significant contributions and strong leadership capabilities, these promotions also set the stage for advancement of other leaders throughout our organization consistent with our established management development and succession plans.”

Keffer, who joined PAA in 1998, was most recently the vice president of terminals, managing commercial operations for crude and refined products terminals. He has also been managing director – refinery supply, director of trading and manager of sales and trading.

Brown joined PAA in 2009 as vice president of pipeline business development, handling commercial activities for all U.S. crude oil and refined products pipelines.

Goebel joined PAA in 2013 as managing director of acquisitions. Most recently he worked in the fundamentals area and crude oil lease group. He is now vice president for acquisitions and strategic planning.

Pinchback is now vice president - pipeline business development. He joined PAA in 2006, and most recently was managing director – pipeline business development.

Armstrong also said that John Rutherford will step down as executive vice president to pursue personal interests after more than 15 years at the company. Rutherford will be an adviser and consultant to Armstrong and the president for several months.
