A joint venture between engineering firm Monadelphous Group and Giovenco Industries have won a new contract for services on the Woodside-operated Karratha gas plant life extension program.

The company’s 70:30 joint venture, known as MGJV, will provide a range of services to the extension program, including the planning and execution of mechanical, electrical, access, fire protection application, blasting and painting, cladding and insulation services.

It is scheduled to commence in early 2016 for a two-year period.

Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said the award of the contract represented another major milestone for its oil and gas services business.

“Monadelphous has a long-term commitment to the Karratha region and we are particularly pleased to be selected together with our joint venture partner Giovenco as a services provider for this important program of works,” he said.

“We look forward to successfully delivering outstanding services to Woodside.”

Located 1,260km north of Perth, Western Australia, and covering approximately 200 hectares, the North West Shelf project’s Karratha gas plant includes five LNG processing trains, two domestic gas trains, six condensate stabilisation units, three LPG fractionation units as well as storage and loading facilities for LNG, LPG and condensate.

The plant has the capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes of domestic gas per day.

Monadelphous has provided project, shutdown and maintenance services to Woodside since 2002.
