A well recorded a daily flow rate of more than 1,500 cu. m (9,435 barrels) of oil in the Mishrif Formation at the Eridu Field in southern Iraq, according to a news release.

Lukoil reported March 26 that the well, the fifth of the appraisal phase at the Block 10 field, proved the current geological model of the field as effective. Lukoil’s partner on the development is Inpex Corp.

Geological exploration continues at Block 10, Lukoil said in the release. The company said it plans to drill and test several appraisal wells, complete 3-D seismic surveys at the Eridu Field and 2-D seismic surveys at the block’s southern and central parts in the mid-term.
