Juniper Capital II LP said Nov. 29 it formed a strategic partnership in the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas with BoomTown Oil LLC.
The partnership will pursue and develop conventional and unconventional oil and gas plays across multiple basins in the Lower 48, initially focusing on the Eagle Ford.
BoomTown is led by Michael Rozenfeld and Sean Fitzgerald, who are founding partners of South Texas Reservoir Alliance.
Rozenfeld and Fitzgerald also have petrophysical and reservoir engineering experience from Shell E&P and Rosetta Resources, where they were instrumental in the identification and early entry into the Woodford Scoop, Niobrara and Eagle Ford plays, according to the release.
Based in Houston, BoomTown previously operated in eight different states in both conventional and unconventional settings where it leased or purchased more than 180,000 acres and drilled hundreds of horizontal wells, the release said.
While the company is initially focused on the Eagle Ford, BoomTown will also consider acquisition and development opportunities in other basins in the Lower 48.
BoomTown was advised by Wittliff | Cutter | Austin PLLC. Juniper was advised by Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.
