Whitecap Resources Inc. appointed Daryl H. Gilbert to its board of directors, the company said July 14, noting that the appointment was effective that day. Gilbert will also serve on the corporate governance and compensation committee and will chair the HSE committee.
Gilbert is currently a managing director of private-equity firm JOG Capital Inc. He is also a director of several energy-related public entities.
Gilbert is a professional petroleum engineer and is the former president and CEO of Gilbert Laustsen Jung Associates Ltd., now GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd. (GLJ), a Calgary, Alberta-based petroleum evaluation consulting firm. He retired from professional consulting in 2005 after 26 years at GLJ.
Gilbert has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba. He is a current member of the Association of Petroleum Engineers & Geoscientists of Alberta and the Society of Petroleum Engineering.
Calgary-based Whitecap Resources Inc. operates in western Canada, including in the Montney, Deep Basin and Cardium areas.
