Fortress Environmental Services was issued an STF-0108 permit allowing the addition of mud recycling to its oilfield services at the Fortress Saltwater Disposal Supercenter by the Texas Railroad Commission, the company said Nov. 19.

The Supercenter is in Waelder, Texas. The $2.5 million Eagle Ford stationary treatment facility is now open, and will recycle oil- and water-based drilling mud, solids, and oil and gas well cuttings.

The new concrete-reinforced facility will totally prevent all rainwater runoff and contain all fluids so that cuttings and mud can be cleaned and processed in an environmentally sound manner, the company added.
