EPL Stock Bounced To OTCBB Three years ago, Energy Partners Ltd., New Orleans, (NYSE: EPL) was offering some $50 a share for Stone Energy Corp., and Woodside Petroleum was offering some $23 a share for EPL. Today, EPL reports it is being bounced off the NYSE and will take a listing on the OTC Bulletin Board, as its market cap has fallen below $15 million. Vaalco Goes 2-for-2 On Well-Abandonment News Vaalco Energy Inc., Houston, (NYSE: EGY) reports its partners in a gas prospect in the U.K. North Sea has voted to abandon the well as non-commercial. Vaalco had a 25% interest. The news comes two weeks after Vaalco reported it drilled its Ontou-1 onshore Gabon to 3,800 feet but will plug and abandon it because it struck water. FP Offer For Basic Earth ‘Coercive’ Basic Earth Science Systems Inc., Denver, (OTCBB: BSIC) says a share-exchange offer by FieldPoint Petroleum Corp., Austin, Texas, (Amex: FPP) was “coercive.” BE president Ray Singleton says, “Basic’s board…, specifically its independent directors, viewed the…offer…as coercive and an inadequate offer to gain control of Basic and its assets.” The BE board adopted a poison pill.
