Cordillera Energy Partners III LLC, Denver, has reported the results from five company operated wells in Western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle.

High Rate Horizontal Marmaton Completion in Roger Mills County, OK

The Galileo 2-4HA was drilled from a surface location in the SWSW of Section 4, T14N, R24W to a bottom-hole location in the SENW of the same section. The Marmaton sandstone in this section is at a TVD of 11,150' and has an average thickness of 100'. The well was drilled to a TD of 14,272' MD, exposing a 2,207' long lateral to a seven stage fracture-stimulation completion. After frac clean-up, the Galileo 2-4HA produced 5,364 Mcf and 367 BO in 24 hours on a 18/64” choke with a flowing casing pressure of 1,800 psi. The natural gas production has a heating value of 1,197 btu/cf, therefore, an additional 497 bbls/d of liquids will be recovered after processing. Including oil and NGL recovery at a 6:1 conversion ratio, and accounting for residue gas shrinkage, the Galileo 2-3HA initial production rate is 9,528 Mcfe/d.

Two Prolific Horizontal Tonkawa Producers in Ellis County, OK

Cordillera recently drilled and completed the Grand 1-14HC from a surface location in the SWSE of Section 14, T16N, R23W northward to a bottom-hole location in the NWNE of the same section. The Tonkawa sandstone is at 8,210' TVD and is 40' thick at this location. The 12,300' TD well with a 3,962' lateral was completed in ten consecutive fracture stimulation stages. In a recent 24 hour sales period, it produced 1,205 bo and 1,685 Mcf. Plant processing will recover an additional 166 bbls/d of natural gas liquids from the 1,210 btu/cf gas. After accounting for residue gas shrinkage and applying a 6:1 conversion ratio, the Grand 1-14HC initial production rate is 1,596 BOE/d.

Also in Southern Ellis County, OK, at a surface location in the SESW of Section 16, T16N, R23W, Cordillera drilled the Oak 1-16HB to a TD of 12,723' MD. The 3,588' lateral has an average TVD of 8,325' and extends to a bottom-hole location in the NENW of the same section. The 35’ thick Tonkawa sandstone was completed in nine fracture stimulation stages and, after stimulation fluid clean-up, produced 262 bo and 1,457 mcf in 24 hrs. Using a similar methodology to account for plant products, and including residue gas a 6:1 ratio, the Oak 1-16HB initial production rate is 601 BOE/d.

High Rate Horizontal Tonkawa oil well in Roger Mills County, OK

The Glass 1-25HB was drilled from a surface location in the SWSW of Section 25, T16N, R24W northward to a TD of 12,750' in the NWNW of the same section. The 3,905' lateral was drilled in the Tonkawa sandstone, which is 50' thick at an average TVD of 8,425' in this section. The Glass 1-25HB well was completed in ten fracture stimulation stages and produced 568 BO and 2,480 Mcf in a recent 24 hour sales period. The natural gas production has a heating value of 1,210 btu/cf, yielding an additional 244 bbls/d of liquids after processing. Including oil and NGL recovery, and accounting for residue gas at a 6:1 ratio, the Glass 1-25HB initial production rate is 1,144 BOE/d.

Overall, Cordillera has drilled or acquired over 50 horizontal Tonkawa wells in Western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. The company is rapidly expanding the play with four active rigs focusing on drilling additional horizontal Tonkawa wells.

Additional High Rate Granite Wash Completion in Wheeler County, TX

The A.C. Smith 41-2HB was drilled from a surface location in the SESW of Section 41, Block A-3, H&GN Survey northward to a TD of 16,964' in the NENW of the same section. The 4,062' lateral was drilled in the Granite Wash "Britt" bench which is 120' thick at an average TVD of 12,680'. After clean-up of the twelve stage completion, the A.C. Smith 41-2HB sold 17,332 Mcf and produced 632 BO in 24 hours. The natural gas production has a heating value of 1,220 btu/cf, yielding an additional 1,554 bbls/d of liquids after processing. Including oil and NGL recovery at a 6:1 conversion ratio, and accounting for residue gas shrinkage, the A.C. Smith 41-2HB initial production rate is 27,101 Mcfe/d.

Cordillera, and its wholly owned subsidiary Granite Operating, now operates 20 horizontal Granite Wash wells in six separate benches in the highly active Granite Wash play. The company currently has three horizontal rigs dedicated to drilling additional Granite Wash targets in Wheeler and Hemphill Counties, TX and Roger Mills County, OK.
