CNOOC Ltd. said Sept. 20 production at the Liuhua 16-2 oilfield/ 20-2 oilfield joint development project in the Eastern South China Sea has begun.
The joint development project has a water depth of about 410 meters and features one 150,000-DWT FPSO with three underwater production systems.
Plans are to put 26 total development wells into production and development, CNOOC said in a news release. The project is expected to reach its peak production of about 72,800 barrels of crude oil per day in 2022.
CNOOC Limited holds 100% interest of the project.
