China’s CNOOC Ltd. has started production at the Nanbao 35-2 oil field S1 area in northern China’s central Bohai Bay, the company said Sept. 11.
Peak production of about 1,800 barrels of crude oil per day is expected in 2021.
The major production facility includes one unmanned wellhead platform with plans for a total of three development wells.
CNOOC Ltd. holds 100% interest in the project.
President Tayyip Erdogan said in August the field north of the Turkish coast in the Black Sea contained 320 Bcm of gas, making it Turkey's biggest natural gas discovery.
The company said the Roshchinskoye oil field has “geological reserves” of 4 million tonnes (29.3 million barrels).
Russian oil output fell to 11.11 million barrels per day (MMbbl/d) in May, its lowest level since June 2018, from 11.23 MMbbl/d in April, Energy Ministry data showed on June 2.
