ChampionX Corp., through its subsidiary ChampionX Norge AS, has been awarded a five-year contract on Sept. 21 with two additional two-year extension options, to deliver production specialty chemicals and management services to all Vår Energi assets as the business progresses with its CO2 emissions reduction strategy across its operations.
ChampionX is a global leader in chemistry solutions and highly engineered equipment and technologies that help companies drill for and produce oil and gas safely and efficiently around the world. Vår Energi was an early adopter of its Emulsion Viscosity Reducer (EVR), which is proven to maximize recovery by up to 30% in existing wells.
Throughout the next five-year period, ChampionX will continue to deliver its range of chemical management services to Vår Energi, which encompasses the deployment of its asset integrity, phase separation, flow assurance and enhanced oil recovery chemical technologies.
“As the oil and gas industry continues in its efforts to enable sustainable production and reduce carbon footprint, ChampionX is ideally placed to support these ambitions,” said Susan Hart, general manager of energy services for Europe, Middle East & North Africa at ChampionX. “Our range of chemical solutions are actively supporting operators as they achieve their net-zero goals. We are exceptionally proud of the work we have achieved with Vår Energi over the past two decades, and we look forward to this momentum continuing as we support the business and its sustainability objectives.”
