Atwood Oceanics Inc., Houston, (NYSE: ATW) reports that it earned $74.8 million in net income on revenues of $160.7 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2008, or $1.16 per diluted share. During the same period last year, Atwood earned $54.1 million on revenues of $121.6 million, or $0.84 per diluted share.
The company’s net income for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2008, was $215.4 million on revenues of $526.6 million, or $3.34 per diluted share; last year’s total income was $139 million on revenues of $403 million, or $2.18 per diluted share.
