The Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) reported record natural gas output for the state in May in its monthly review.
Natural gas gross withdrawals rose to 36.9 Bcf/d, with marketed production hitting a new high of 34.4 billion cubic feet per day, 300 MMcf/d higher than in March in both categories.
TXOGA’s report estimated that crude oil production in Texas held steady at 5.7 MMbbl/d, while NGL production also remained level at 4 MMbbl/d.
TXOGA Chief Economist Dean Foreman said that continued growth in natural gas output demonstrates the ongoing development of infrastructure in the state.
According to the report, Texas produced about 24.3 Bcf/d of dry natural gas. Of the total, 11.8 Bcf/d was consumed in state. About 8.6 Bcf was exported as LNG, primarily to Europe. The rest was either shipped to other states or to Mexico via pipeline.
