Standard Solar has purchased a 39-megawatt (MW) community solar portfolio in Illinois from New Leaf Energy, according to an April 22 press release.

The portfolio is comprised of five solar projects in towns of Blackstone, Braceville, Dwight, Seneca and Wadsworth, the release stated. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The projects use a mix of single-axis tracker and ground mount technology and are collectively expected to produce more than 46,700 megawatt-hours of clean energy in their first year of operation.

In March, Standard Solar acquired two other community solar projects in Illinois from Cenergy Power. The projects, in Zion and Kankakee counties, totaled over 9 MW.

The company said it now holds over 30 owned, operational, in construction and contracted projects in Illinois, totaling 150 MW. This aligns with the state’s goal of achieving 100% clean energy by 2050, the release said.

“At New Leaf Energy, we’re proud to support Illinois’s clean energy goals by delivering high-quality, community-focused solar projects. This portfolio reflects our commitment to advancing the energy transition through strategic partnerships and disciplined project execution,” said Andrew Kraczkiewicz, vice president of New Leaf Energy.
