Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corp., Beijing, (NYSE: SNP) and its joint venture partner, a subsidiary of India-based ONGC Videsh Ltd., have acquired Bogata, Colombia-based Omimex de Colombia Inc. from its parent company Fort Worth, Texas-based Omimex Resources Inc., for $850 million. Omimex de Colombia has operations exclusively in Colombia that include onshore exploration and production activities of light and heavy oil in the Velasquez, Nare and Cocorna fields, as well as ownership and operation of a midstream pipeline.
