Shell Plc has increased its stake in the Ursa platform in the Gulf of Mexico from 45.3884% to 61.3484%, according to a May 1 press release.
Shell Offshore and Shell Pipeline Co. agreed in February to buy the 15.96% stake from ConocoPhillips.
Shell also operates the platform, which is located approximately 130 miles southeast of New Orleans. The co-owners are BP Exploration & Production Inc., with 22.6916% interest, and ECP GOM III, with 15.96%.
The transaction also includes an 11.81% membership interest in the Ursa Oil Pipeline Co., which Shell operates. Shell’s working interest in the pipeline is now 57.2%.
