PROPWR, a division of services company ProPetro Holding Corp., announced its first contract to provide up to 80 megawatts (MW) of electrical generation on May 20.

The contract will be executed in collaboration with an unnamed Permian-focused E&P operator to deliver power for production operations.

Service will begin in the third quarter of 2025 and includes assets, onsite operations, maintenance, monitoring, an availability guarantee and take-or-pay obligations for the customer to support PROPWR’s capacity commitment. Midland-based ProPetro did not name the customer in the announcement.

ProPetro launched PROPWR in December 2024 and invested $122 million in equipment for the new division. The Permian-focused company is engaged in negotiations for additional contracts and has agreed to terms with one additional customer.

“Since launching the PROPWR business late last year, demand has been greater than we expected, and we believe this market and PROPWR are just getting started,” said Sam Sledge, CEO of ProPetro, in the announcement.

Sledge said the company is in negotiations for other contracts and has already signed a letter of intent with another company.
