In part two of this unique industry dialogue hosted by Hart Energy, Tom Petrie, chairman of Petrie Partners, answers the question: Is there a seat at the OPEC table for U.S. shale independents?
Joining Hart Energy’s Jessica Morales, Oil and Gas Investor Editor-in-Chief Steve Toon and E&P Executive Editor Jennifer Presley, Petrie discusses whether the current OPEC process is outdated and will the price shock serve to rebalance markets.
“I think there is some high-cost oil that will be part of the self-correcting mechanism that’s been triggered,” Petrie said.

Fugro has delivered the first fully remote inspection of an oil and gas platform in U.K. waters, 250 km east of Scotland, using a ROV and Fugro’s state-of-the art remote operations center (ROC) in Aberdeen, the company said on Aug. 4.
Remote training and monitoring procedures enabled the successful installation of the liner hanger system, cementing products and tubular running services.
A simulation system provides design engineers with a realistic insight into what an ROV can and cannot do to improve the design of subsea systems.
