ProPetro Holding Corp. promoted Sam Sledge to president effective immediately, according to a release by the oilfield services firm on April 5 release.
“We are pleased to have Sam take on this key role at ProPetro,” said ProPetro Chairman and CEO Phillip Gobe.
Sledge, who joined ProPetro in 2011, currently serves as the company’s chief strategy and administrative officer. In a statement, Gobe added that Sledge’s promotion compliments the recent naming of Adam Muñoz as COO and David Schorlemer as CFO, which were part of a comprehensive succession planning process by the ProPetro board of directors.
“Sam has been with the company for ten years and held several positions of increasing responsibility in multiple key functions across the organization, including operations, finance, human resources, corporate development, administration and communications,” Gobe continued in his statement. “His deep knowledge of the business and our culture of teamwork to drive safe, superior performance at the well site proved invaluable as we navigated the challenging market conditions of the past year, and will remain essential in his new role.”
ProPetro provides pressure pumping and other hydraulic fracturing services to E&P companies in North America. With its headquarters in Midland, Texas, the company is strategically located and focused in the Permian Basin.
Prior to chief strategy and administrative officer, Sledge served as vice president of finance, corporate development and investor relations. He has also previously worked as a frac technical specialist and technical operations manager where his duties included quality control, planning and logistics, and the development of the engineering program.
In a statement commenting on the promotion, Sledge said: “I appreciate the confidence and support of Phillip and the board, and look forward to working closely with Adam, David and other members of executive management, as well as the full team at ProPetro, as we capitalize on opportunities to improve the business, while continuing to provide our customers unsurpassed and safe execution at the well site.”
Sledge is a graduate of Baylor University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration.
