1 Exploration and development work being carried out by Oil Producers Inc. of Kansas, Wichita, near Coldwater in Kansas' Comanche County has resulted in the completion of the 5,924-ft. #7 Rich "C" initially producing 700 bbl. of oil and 350,000 cu. ft. of gas per day. IHS Energy Group says the well is producing from Ordovician Viola, logged at 5,804 ft. It's in Section 22-32s-19w, in the area of Bird East and Herd fields. 2 A pump gauge of 200 bbl. of oil per day has been credited to a Rush County, Kan., exploratory well completed by Schoenchen, Kan., independent Castle Resources Inc. The #1 Stull, Section 14-16s-20w, is producing from Cambro-Ordovician Arbuckle, perforated at 3,860-62 ft. The new producer is 0.33-mile southwest of wells on the southern flank of Keough Northeast Field. Castle is production testing the #1 Stull-Elliot, a projected 4,000-ft. Arbuckle prospect, which is a little less than 0.25-mile northwest of the #1 Stull. 3 Two stepouts on the Pratt Anticline in Barber County, Kan., have been completed producing gas, reports IHS Energy Group. Half a mile east of the greater Aetna gas area, Jack Exploration Inc., Sulphur, Okla., tested a flow of 1.46 million cu. ft. of gas per day at the #1-4 Benson in Section 4-35s-14w. The extension is producing through perforations at 4,830-50 ft. and 4,874-84 ft. in Mississippian. The second extension in the county is the F.G. Holl Co. LLC #1-16 Lemon Trust, Section 16-30s-13w, which flowed 1.02 million cu. ft. of gas per day at completion. The Wichita firm's well is producing through Viola perforations at 4,480-96 ft. It's 0.33-mile southeast of Lem Field. 4 Section 32-10s-19w in Kansas' Rooks County is the site of the Trich Production Inc. #1-32 Schoshetom Unit, a discovery completed on pump for 50 bbl. of oil, with 1,000 cu. ft. of gas, per day. Trich, headquartered in Longview, Texas, tested the well from four perforated intervals in Pennsylvanian Lansing-Kansas City between 3,422-3,550 ft. Tests of Arbuckle at 3,634-39 ft. and 3,652-55 ft. were unsuccessful. 5 Windsor Energy Group LLC, Oklahoma City, has tested a flow of 150 bbl. of oil, 1.25 million cu. ft. of gas and 50 bbl. of load water per day at the #1-14 Irene, a Pennsylvanian Cleveland deeper-pool opener on the southern flank of Oklahoma's Putnam Field. Located in Section 14-16n-19w, Dewey County, the #1-14 Irene is producing from 9,528-48 ft. and 9,573-78 ft. IHS Energy Group says the well, which was tested on a 20/64-in. choke, is in an area of shallower Pennsylvanian Tonkawa production. Also in Dewey County, another Oklahoma City operator, JMA Energy Co. LLC, was successful at another Cleveland exploratory test-the #1-29 Owens in Section 29-16n-19w. The well, which was tested for an initial flow of 1.218 million cu. ft. of gas, 32 bbl. of oil and 27 bbl. of water per day on a 16/64-in. choke, is producing through perforations at 9,744-76 ft. It extended Leedey Southeast Field 0.5-mile east. 6 Wilburton Field in Oklahoma was extended 0.75-mile northwest when Salt Lake City-based Questar Exploration & Production Co. completed its #2-27 Satori flowing 2.1 million cu. ft. of gas and 30 bbl. of water per day on a 24/64-in. choke. Located in Section 27-6n-18e, Latimer County, the stepout is producing from Pennsylvanian Basal Atoka (Spiro) at 12,301-22 ft. 7 Another field in Oklahoma has been extended, reports IHS Energy Group. The successful outpost is the Kirrie Oil Co. LLC #1 Leo in Section 19-4n-1w, Garvin County. It yielded 144 bbl. of oil and 147 bbl. of water, with 141,000 cu. ft. of gas, per day on pump through perforations between 5,026-5,120 ft. in Viola. The Oklahoma City operator's producer is about 0.25-mile northwest of Florence Chapel Field. 8 Five new ultradeep tests are slated for Oklahoma, four of them staked by Chesapeake Operating Inc., Oklahoma City. The company is set to drill two of its tests in Beckham County-the 25,250-ft. Siluro-Devonian Hunton test #1-13 Wannamaker in Section 13-10n-25w and 25,100-ft. Ordovician Sylvan test #1-30 Plunk in Section 30-10n-24w. Both ventures are in the New Liberty Southwest Field area. Marlow Field in Stephens County is the site of Chesapeake's third deep venture-the 23,500-ft. #1-18 Baughn in Section 18-2n-7w. Pennsylvanian Springer at about 22,400 ft. is the deepest of several potential pays scheduled to be evaluated at the wildcat. The company also plans to test Springer when it drills to 19,600 ft. at the #1032 Phariss, a wildcat in Section 32-6n-10w, Caddo County. Beckham County claims the fifth deep venture, where Denver independent St. Mary Operating Co. is drilling below 4,500 ft. toward a projected depth of 20,650 ft. at the #1-27 John Patrick in Section 27-11n-26w. The deepest of several objectives at the exploratory test is Pennsylvanian Morrow-Springer, expected at about 16,500 ft. 9 A 240-bbl.-per-day oil producer completed on pump by Apache Corp. is a south extension of a Tonkawa pool in the Texas Panhandle's Feldman Field. IHS Energy Group says the stepout, which also yielded 200,000 cu. ft. of gas and two bbl. of water per day, is the #1 Hodgson 21 in Section 21, Block 42, H&TC Survey, A-259, Hemphill County. Houston-based Apache's well is producing from 7,718-68 ft. 10 Dallas independent Corda Corp. reports the successful completion of the #1 Southern Cotton, located within the city limits of Quanah in Section 142, Block H, W&NW RR Co. Survey, A-746, Hardeman County, Texas. The Quanah East Field well had an initial flowing potential of 127.3 bbl. of oil and 37,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on a 6/64-in. choke. It's producing from an openhole interval at 8,541-52 ft. in Mississippian Chappel Lime. Pipe is set at 8513 ft. at the 8,562-ft. well. 11 BTA Oil Producers, Midland, has finaled a dual-producer in Winkler County, Texas, where one of the pays-vertical Atoka-established a new pool in Wink South Field. The company tapped Atoka, perforated between 13,272-13,336 ft., for a flow of 437,000 cu. ft. of gas and 12 bbl. of condensate per day at the #7487 JVS-Hutchings Sealy in Section 89, Block F, G&MMB&A Survey, A-124. Horizontal Silurian Montoya and Ordovician Ellenburger, development pays in the field, produced 1.297 million cu. ft. of gas, 36 bbl. of condensate and 36 bbl. of water per day from 16,508-20,445 ft. Both tests were taken on a 1-in. choke. 12 Two ultradeep exploratory tests are being drilled in Texas' Loving County, reports IHS Energy Group. A mile east-northeast of Haley Field, Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Houston, has resumed drilling after running pipe to 17,920 ft. and is nearing projected depth of 18,500 ft. at the #1 J.E. Haley "24" in Section 24, Block 29, PSL Survey, A-1062. The #1-R Leiman is a scheduled 22,000-ft. test where Midland-based TMBR/Sharp Drilling Inc. is drilling below 11,490 ft. It's in Section 9, Block 75, PSL Survey, A-1352, about 1.75 miles southwest of 20,148-ft. Silurian gas production in Linebery Field. The venture is a replacement test for the #1 Leiman that was junked and abandoned earlier this year at a total depth of 19,115 ft. 13 Four C Oil & Gas Corp., Dallas, has finaled a Pecos County, Texas, deeper-pool wildcat as a McKee Sand gas discovery in the Lehn-Apco Field area. The initial flow rate was 636,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on a 10/64-in. choke at the #1 Lehn, in Section 71, Block 10, H&GN Survey, A-504. The company perforated at 4,994-5,004 ft. 14 IHS Energy Group reports the Fort Worth firm of Threshold Development Co. has completed a wildcat in Hockley County, Texas, pumping 68 bbl. of oil and 54 bbl. of water per day from Permian Clear Fork. The discovery is in Labor 10, League 708, State Capitol Lands Survey, A-240, nearly a mile northwest of Whitharral Field. It's producing through three perforated intervals-6,935-44 ft., 6,952-70 and 6,973-86 ft. 15 In New Mexico's Lea County, Yates Petroleum Corp. has completed a Morrow discovery and plans to deepen a remote wildcat that's targeting gas production in that formation. The Artesia, N.M., firm tapped Morrow for a flow gauge of 412,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on a 24/64-in. choke at the wildcat #1 Mocha State in Section 2-13s-34e. Perforations are at 12,290-13,346 ft. The remote wildcat that's scheduled to be deepened to 13,200 ft. is the #1 Roger "BAQ" State Com in Section 22-11s-35e. It was originally completed as a 10,860-ft. dry hole in 1968.
