1 Castle Resources Inc., Schoenchen, Kan., completed the #1 Lockwood-Richmeier in Section 17-11s-30w, Gove County, Kan., at a pump rate of 65 bbl. of oil and 40 bbl. of water per day. It's producing from six acidized intervals in the Lansing-Kansas City and the Myrick Station between 4,121 and 4,431 ft. The well is less than two miles west of Verhoeff South Field, a three-well pool discovered in 1979 that has produced 63,000 bbl. of oil from Lansing-Kansas City and the Basal Pennsylvanian Conglomerate. One stripper well is still active in the field, according to IHS Energy. 2 Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Houston, will drill two Kansas wildcats in its continuing program targeting pre-Permian reserves in the Hugoton Embayment. The first is the #HJV Dudley "A," a 6,400-ft. Morrow/St. Louis wildcat that is permitted in Section 21-32s-38w, 7.5 miles northwest of the Hugoton city limits in western Stevens County. The second wildcat is the #4 KU Endowment "C" in Section 35-34s-38w, some 7.5 miles south-southwest of Hugoton. The wellsite is a third-mile northeast of the confirmation well for Anadarko's Brecheisen Field. 3 Stephens Production Co., Fort Smith, Ark., recovered gas flowing at a rate of 20.3 million cu. ft. per day from three intervals at a development well in Johnson County, Ark. The #3 Taylor-Landthrip, in Section 22-10n-23w about two miles north of Clarksville, flowed 10.4 million cu. ft. of gas per day during tests of two fracture-treated intervals in Brentwood between 4,004-28 ft. Tests of the Upper Hale between 4,106-54 ft. resulted in a natural flow rate of 6.4 million cu. ft. of gas per day, gauged through a 48/64-in. choke. The Upper Hale is currently isolated between packers and will be produced at a later date. 4 Ross Explorations Inc., Fort Smith, Ark., successfully completed the #1 USA wildcat three miles east-southeast of Blue Mountain in Yell County, Ark. Located in Section 9-5n-25w, the discovery flowed 3.84 million cu. ft. of gas per day from the Upper Borum "A" at 2,680 to 2,718 ft. and Upper Borum "B" at 2,760-96 ft. Tests on the Upper Borum "C" between 3,230-56 ft. yielded a flow rate of 797,000 cu. ft. of gas per day, reported IHS Energy. 5 Denver-based St. Mary Operating Co. completed an exploratory test as a multizone Atoka producer in Beckham County, Okla., approximately 12 miles north-northwest of Erick. The #1-26 Bess, in Section 26-11n-26w, was tested at a combined rate of 21.3 million cu. ft. of gas and 648 bbl. of water per day. The Atoka, between 14,983 and 15,105 ft., flowed 7.8 million cu. ft. of gas and 144 bbl. of water per day. The closest Atoka production is 1.25 miles northeast at Sweet Water Field. 6 A discovery tapping a Springer channel sand in Blaine County, Okla., has been completed by Continental Resources Inc. The Enid-based independent drilled the #1-22 Bryson in Section 22-17n-12w to a total depth of 9,026 ft. The well flowed 2.5 million cu. ft. of gas and 110 bbl. of oil per day into the sales line, says working-interest partner Brigham Exploration Co., Austin, Texas. That firm has a 29% interest in the well. 7 Rox Exploration Inc., Norman, Okla., brought in a second extension well to Western Verdun Field in Caddo County, Okla. The McVey #1, in Section 11-7n-9w, reached a total depth of 9,880 ft. and produced at a rate of 254 bbl. of oil in 25 hours from Hoxbar perforations at around 9,700 ft. West Verdun Field had been unitized and waterflooded by Ensign Oil & Gas, but the McVey well and the Pearl #1, completed by Rox last year in Section 10 of the same township, are outside the waterflood unit. 8 Yates Petroleum Corp., Artesia, N.M., completed a Lea County, N.M., workover as an Austin Cycle discovery. The #1 Isaiah "BBA" State, in Section 14-9s-32e, flowed 265,000 cu. ft. of gas daily. It was tested through acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 10,517-69 ft. The operator plugged the well back to 10,700 ft. for completion. The well was originally completed in 1985 and produced small amounts of gas and condensate before being plugged. 9 Yates Petroleum Corp. has also completed an Atoka discovery about 15 miles east of Lake Arthur, N.M. The #1 Purple Gosling "BBD" State was tested flowing 1.8 million cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations between 9,098 and 9,190 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 525 psi on a 3/64-in. choke. The 9,630-ft. opener for Jahie Lake Field was drilled in irregular Section 2-16s-28e, Eddy County. 10 A wildcat is planned in the Texas portion of the western Anadarko Basin by Amarillo independent Cambridge Production Inc. The #1 Old Highway, in Section 22, Block A-5, H&GN Survey, A-8821, Wheeler County, will be drilled to a total depth of 13,800 ft., presumably in the Ellenburger. The wildcat is a mile east of Misener production at about 12,500 ft. in Mo-Tex Field. 11 Geostrat Inc., Dallas, is planning to drill a dual-lateral wildcat in central Hardeman County, Texas, about two miles west-southwest of Quanah. The #1 Griffin will be drilled from a surface location in Section 192, Block H, W&NW Survey, A-940. The laterals will bottom beneath the same section, one toward the east and the other northwest, both at 8,300 ft. measured depth. 12 A Borden County, Texas, wildcat is planned by Fagadau Energy Corp., Dallas. The #1 Stephens is projected to a total depth of 7,500 ft. on a 160-acre lease in Section 1, Block 32, T6N, TT RR Survey, A-402. The well is about 0.66-mile from an abandoned wildcat that had shows in several intervals. 13 Westridge Oil & Gas Properties tested a workover in southern Parker County, Texas, at the rate of 111,000 cu. ft. of gas, three bbl. of water, and a trace of condensate per day though perforations at 2,000-06 ft. in an unreported formation. The #5 Ganky, in Section 6, Block 4, I&GN Survey, A-1777, was originally drilled in 2002 to a depth of 3,532 ft. The Mineral Wells-based operator also drilled the #3 Ganky to 3,678 ft. at a location about a third-mile south in the same section. The wells are in Buckner Field. 14 Bluegrass Energy Inc., Tulsa, is drilling a 7,500-ft. test in Pecos County, Texas. The #1 Sixmile Draw is in Section 4, Block 178, TC RR Survey, A-5042. It is half-mile from a 1981 wildcat that reached a total depth of 8,500 ft. in the same section. More than a year ago, Prime Operating Co. filed a permit to reenter the #1 Cheatham, but no activity has been reported at the site. 15 Lavanco Energy, San Angelo, is planning a test in Coke County, Texas. The #1 Elna Mays is staked in Section 22, Jose Antonio Gutierrez Survey, A-156. a 1954 well drilled a third-mile southwest in the same section flowed 355 bbl. of oil per day from the Ellenburger at 6,223-40 ft. 16 LeClair Operating Co. Inc., Abilene, completed a gas discovery that flowed 103,000 cu. ft. of gas per day with no liquids. The 1,604-ft. #1 Kothmann is in Section 36, TWNG RR Survey, A-1864, northern Kimble County, Texas.
