• Houston-based Marathon Oil Co. subsidiary Marathon Petroleum Norge has acquired varied interests in five Norwegian North Sea licenses from Statoil, Norsk Hydro and TotalFinaElf. The additions include several undeveloped discoveries close to existing positions in the North Sea's Heimdal and Brae areas. • Amerada Hess, New York City, plans to buy Premier Oil's 40% interest in the Ujung Pangkah Field and related production-sharing contract in East Java, In-donesia. Amerada currently has a 36% interest in Pangkah, and will assume op-eratorship. • Equatorial Energy Inc., Calgary, will sell its Indonesian assets for US$24.5 million cash to an undisclosed company. • Croft Exploration Ltd., owned by Bow Valley Petroleum Ltd., Calgary, and Roc Oil Ltd., will sell its 0.921% interest in the producing Claymore Field in the U.K. North Sea to the Talisman Group. Claymore contributed 130 bbl. oil per day, net to Bow Valley. • British gas and oil producer BG Plc, London, plans to buy Enron Oil and Gas India Ltd. (EOGIL) from Enron for $388 million. EOGIL's assets are on the west coast of India and comprise a 30% interest in the Tapti gas field and the Panna Mukta oil and gas field, along with a 62.4% interest in the CB-OS/1 exploration license.
