Digital consulting firm Infosys has agreed to acquire MRE Consulting Ltd., a Houston-based technology and business servicer, for $36 million, according to an April 17 press release.
The combination introduces MRE Consulting’s energy and commodity trading and risk management (E/CTRM) capabilities into Infosys’ offerings, said Ashiss Kumar Dash, Infosys’ executive vice president and global head of services, utilities, resources, energy and sustainability.
The all-cash deal will enable newer capabilities for Infosys in trading and risk management in the energy sector as the industry enters a digital transformation, the company said.
MRE’s business framework spans energy/commodity trading and risk management, transportation modes and business models.
MRE said it will bring a team of over 200 consulting and technology professionals in E/CTRM platforms and ecosystems to Infosys, the release stated.
The transaction is expected to close during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026.
