Hess Corp. earned a place on the North American Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the 13th year in a row, as well as in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the first time, according to a press release on Dec. 14.

The DJSI World consists of global sustainability leaders through S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Hess was the only North American oil and gas company listed on the DJSI World and one of only three North American oil and gas companies listed in the DJSI North America this year.

"We are honored to be recognized for delivering industry leading ESG performance and disclosure," vice president of environment, health and safety Alex Sagebien said in the release. "Hess will continue to be guided by our longstanding commitment to sustainability as we help to meet the world’s growing need for affordable, reliable and cleaner energy."

Hess was also included in Newsweek's fourth annual America's Most Responsible Companies list as the highest ranked oil and gas producer out of the 500 companies featured. Newsweek analyzes 2,000 U.S.-headquartered companies and makes its selections based on an independent survey and publicly available ESG information.

Hess' ESG performance can be reviewed in the New York-based company's sustainability report.
