The nearest Cotton Valley production is a third-mile south in the same survey where a 1982 well flowed 245,000 cu. ft. of gas a day from a single producing zone. It was completed as a Rodessa well but was never brought online. 2 Midland-based Clayton Williams Energy Inc. completed a discovery from Cotton Valley flowing 24.8 million cu. ft. of gas and 148 bbl. of water daily. The #1 Cotropia Gas Unit is in George Antonio Nixon Survey, A-31, in southwestern Robertson County, Texas. The well produces from fractured perforations between 15,834 and 16,018 ft., with 4,953 psi of flowing tubing pressure through a 24/64-in. choke. The company's discovery for Mumford North Field is about 0.66-mile east-northeast in the same survey. That well, the #1 Muse Unit, has produced a cumulative 423 million cu. ft. of gas and 15,521 bbl. of water between January 2001 and this February. 3 Prime Operating Co., Houston, completed its #1 Pedigo Gas Unit wildcat in John M. Dikes Survey, A-27, in southern Polk County, Texas, flowing 332,000 cu. ft. of gas and one bbl. of water a day. The well produced from Frio perforations between 2,077-82 ft. through a 40/64-in. choke. The nearest producer is a Prime Operating discovery completed last September about 2.5 miles south-southeast. 4 Allegro Investments Inc., Victoria, Texas, flowed 11 million cu. ft. of gas, 191 bbl. of condensate and eight bbl. of water a day from an exploratory well near Raywood Field in southern Liberty County, Texas. The company's #1 Murphy is in Benjamin Freeman Survey, A-190. It was tested from four zones between 13,346 and 13,447 ft. through a 13/64-in. choke. 5 San Antonio-based Republic Resources LLC completed the Republic-Counties #1 well in the J.M. Franklin Survey, No. 1010, A-20, in Atascosa County, Texas. The company tested the 6,000-ft. well for 237 bbl. of oil per day through a 12/64-in. choke from perforations between 5,458-62 ft. 6 Manti Operating Co., Corpus Christi, gauged a discovery at its #1 Kaiser at 174 bbl. of oil and 55,000 cu. ft. of gas a day. The well is 20 miles south of Pleasanton in Section 19, Block 233, GH&H RR Co. Survey, A-340, southern Atascosa County, Texas. Production came from perforations between 5,521-28 ft. in the Lower Wright. Manti measured the flow through a 10/64-in. choke. The nearest production is 0.66-mile northwest, from Patty Hutt Field. Nearby, the company completed the #1 Peeler discovery for 185 bbl. of oil a day, also from Wright at 5,234-42 ft. The well is in James A. Hicks Survey, A-1367, says IHS Energy. 7 Dominion Oklahoma Texas Exploration & Production Inc., Houston, completed its #6 Sartwelle flowing 3 million cu. ft. of gas and 77 bbl. of water daily from Magnolia sand perforations between 14,836-60 ft. The directionally drilled well is in James Frazier Survey, A-171, about 16 miles southeast of Halletsville in Lavaca County, Texas. The discovery is surrounded by wells that produce from shallow Speaks, and the nearest deep well is a Wilcox producer about 1.75 miles northeast. 8 KCS Resources Inc., Houston, recompleted a Dolan Field well in Live Oak County, Texas, about 42 miles southwest of the town of George West, for 3.3 million cu. ft. of gas, 24 bbl. of condensate and eight bbl. of water a day. The #1 Prasek "139," in AB&M #139 Survey, A-55, is producing from perforations between 10,270-80 ft. in Hostetter. Originally, the well was completed in October 2001 flowing 6.7 million cu. ft. of gas a day from Wilcox between 10,685 and 10,752 ft. 9 El Paso Production Oil & Gas Co., Houston, tested its #2 Collins-Bevans wildcat in southern Kleberg County, Texas, for 6.4 million cu. ft. of gas, 384 bbl. of condensate and 432 bbl. of water a day. The well, in Gabriel Trevino Survey, A-232, was tested through a 19/64-in. choke from perforations at 11,688 ft. to 15,675 ft. The success offsets a 1961 well in the same survey that was abandoned after recovering some oil. 10 Corpus Christi-based Mestena Operating Ltd. completed its #1 Mil Pesos in Ysidro Garcia "Las Mestenas" Survey, A-218, in the Alta Mesa Field area of Brooks County, Texas, for 1 million cu. ft. of gas and 15 bbl. of condensate a day. The wildcat is producing through three perforated zones between 5,482 and 5,514. Mestena's discovery is immediately east-southeast of the company's #2 well, and it has permitted the #3 well, reports IHS Energy. 11 Spinnaker Exploration Co. LLC, Houston, completed a workover on North Padre Island Block 883 in state waters offshore Kenedy County, Texas. Its #2 North Padre Island 883-L/889-L Unit flowed 1 million cu. ft. of gas, 10 bbl. of condensate and 15 bbl. of water a day through perforations between 11,189-99 ft. The company drilled to 13,490 ft. and plugged back to 12,730 ft. Spinnaker drilled the original well in October 2000, and it produced 7.7 billion cu. ft. of gas, 228 bbl. of condensate and 816 bbl of water through January this year. 12 An apparent discovery drilled by El Paso Production tested 7.2 million cu. ft. of gas and 131 bbl. of water per day. The #2 Farley "A" discovery, in Antonio de los Santos Survey, A-71, is part of a continuing program in the Jeffress East Field area in southwestern Hidalgo County, Texas. The well was tested through a 24/64-in. choke with flowing tubing pressure of 2,459 psi from fracture-treated perforations. The nearest producer is a Vicksburg well in Jeffress East Field. 13 El Paso Production also tested its #1 OCS-G-18936 in southwestern High Island Block 115 for 20.2 million cu. ft. of gas, 38 bbl. of condensate and 38 bbl. of water a day from an unreported zone, says IHS Energy. The company tested the well on an 18/64-in. choke with 12,006 psi of flowing tubing pressure. El Paso drilled to a total depth of 19,800 ft. in 44 ft. of water. The company will bring the well online later this year. 14 Point Comfort, Texas-based Neumin Production Co. completed a wildcat in southwestern Calcasieu Parish, La., for 250 bbl. of oil and 250,000 cu. ft. of gas a day. The #1 Donner Estate, in Section 4-11s-13w, is about a third-mile east of the Texas border. It produced through Hackberry perforations between 10,512-20 ft. The nearest Hackberry producer is a 1986 well drilled in Orange County, Texas, that flowed 29 million cu. ft. of gas a day. 15 The Novus Louisiana LLC affiliate of Novus Petroleum, Sydney, Australia, completed a gas discovery with 50 ft. of gas pay at its Novus United Lands Co. #13-1 well. The well is in Section 13-10s-4e in Sorrento Dome Field, Ascension Parish, La. 16 Phillips Energy Inc., Shreveport, La., plans a 14,800-ft. wildcat immediately south of Waynesboro in Wayne County, Miss. The #1 Tanner "14-9," in Section 14-8n-7w, is a south-southwest offset to a test abandoned in 1966. The nearest production is about 3.75 miles east-northeast, where a Cotton Valley dual producer in Winchester Field tested 422 bbl. of oil, says IHS Energy.
