LLC at the #1 State Lease 14792 in state waters on Ship Shoal Block 47, offshore Louisiana's Terrebonne Parish. Pipe is set at 13,051 ft., four ft. off bottom, at the prospect nearly a mile southeast of 13,790-ft. Upper Miocene gas production in Ship Shoal Block 47 Field. 7 Several development tests in Louisiana were recently completed flowing in excess of 450 bbl. of oil per day, including the Louisiana Land & Exploration Co. #7 LL&E Fee in Terrebonne Parish that flowed 546 bbl. of oil, 4.377 million cu. ft. of gas and 136 bbl. of water per day. Tested on an 18/64-in. choke, the well in Section 23-22s-15e, Pass Des Ilettes Field, is producing through perforations at 15,502-21 ft. A gauge of 460 bbl. of oil and 325,000 cu. ft. of gas was reported for the H.S. Resources Inc. #1 Texaco Inc. 26, Section 26-7s-7w, Jefferson Davis Parish. Testing was carried out on a 12/64-in. choke through perforations at 8,070-72ft. in Oligocene Hackberry at the well in Thompson Bluff Field. Clayton Williams Energy Inc. tested 451 bbl. of oil and 1.616 million cu. ft. of gas per day at a Sweet Lake Field well in Cameron Parish. The #3 Amoco, 1-13s-18w, flowed on a 14/64-in. choke from Miocene at 7,843-51 ft. 8 Drilling depth is nearing 8,800 ft. at the Bridas Energy USA Inc. #3 A. Wilberts Sons, a projected 20,000-ft. deeper-pool test in the Bayou Des Glaises Field area of Iberville Parish, La. The Houston-based operator's venture is in Section 70-8s-9e. If the depth objective is reached, the test will be the deepest drilling in the parish. 9 Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, reports initial production from two new producers on Eugene Island Block 156- the #A-1 and #A-2 OCS-G-16353-that are flowing at a combined rate of approximately 51.1 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,600 bbl. of condensate per day from G-1 Sand. The #A-1 well was drilled to a true vertical depth of 14,676 ft. and tested on a 42/64-in. choke through perforations between 13,980-14,100 ft. The #A-2 well, which was tested on a 34/64-in. choke, is producing through perforations at 14,256-14,311 ft. 10 Two discoveries were made by Remington Oil & Gas Corp., Dallas, in the Gulf of Mexico, according to 25% interest-owner Magnum Hunter Resources Inc., Irving, Texas. On High Island Block A-441, the 8,700-ft. #1 OCS-G-17179 recently tested at a rate of 9 million cu. ft. of gas and 126 bbl. of condensate per day from a 100-ft. pay interval. East Cameron Block 305 is the site of the second discovery, the #2 OCS-G-16270 that was drilled to a total depth of 5,872 ft. and logged 80 ft. of pay in three sands. Remington, the operator, owns the remaining 75% working interest in each of the wells. 11 Noble Affiliates Inc., Ardmore, Okla., and McMoRan Exploration Co., New Orleans, have announced that the #2 OCS-G-19760, the initial well drilled under their previously announced multiwell exploration alliance in the Gulf of Mexico, is a discovery on Vermilion Block 196. The well, which bottomed at 14,798 ft., encountered 70 ft. of net pay in three sands logged between 13,160-14,350 ft., measured depths. McMoRan, the operator, owns a 47.5% working interest and Noble's wholly owned subsidiary, Samedan Oil Corp., has 25%. The owners of the remaining 27.5% working interest are not identified. In September, McMoRan announced the alliance with Samedan to conduct exploration on McMoRan's acreage in the Gulf of Mexico. Involved are several blocks in the areas of Vermilion, Eugene Island, West Delta and Garden Banks, plus Louisiana State Lease 340. In addition, Samedan has agreed to work with McMoRan in identifying additional future prospects on the approximately 660,000 acres accumulated by McMoRan in earlier transactions with Shell Offshore Inc. and Texaco Exploration & Production Inc. Samedan has the right to participate in the future prospects. Its share of estimated costs for the specified exploration projects is approximately $25 million. 12 W&T Offshore Inc., with offices in Houston and Metairie, La., says its #1 OCS-G-15271 discovery on Eugene Island Block 397 encountered approximately 200 ft. of net pay. Additional information provided by 12.5% working interest owner Magnum Hunter Resources Inc. reveals the discovery was drilled to a total depth of 10,160 ft. and that production casing has been set. W&T notes it operates the discovery with a 50% working interest. Remington Oil & Gas Corp. owns the remaining 37.5% working interest. 13 Multiple shows of oil were logged by Palmer Petroleum Inc., Shreveport, at an indicated deeper-pool opener located on the east flank of Smithtown Field in Wayne County, Miss., reports the Southeastern Oil Review.
