The GPA Midstream Association, with affiliated GPSA Midstream Suppliers, announced award recipients for the midstream industry's outstanding 2021 safety performances on June 15.
Companies submitted 2021 safety statistics for nearly 70 million workhours specific to midstream operations, including natural gas gathering, compression, treating, processing, marketing and storage and NGL fractionation, transportation, storage and marketing, a GPA Midstream press release stated.
Founded in 1921, GPA Midstream represents corporate members globally, with the mission to responsibly serve and represent the midstream energy industry with "collaborative expertise, safety and advocacy."
“People – our employees, families and neighbors that live and work in the communities in which we operate – are the foundation behind the midstream industry’s steadfast commitment to safety in all that we do,” GPA Midstream president and CEO and GPSA CEO Joel Moxley said in the release.
"Both associations are dedicated to ongoing safety improvement through transparency in reporting and by building upon member companies’ exceptional safety programs and performance history. It's an honor to recognize these award recipients who lead by example.”
The four GPA Midstream award divisions are determined by workhours, ranging from less than 50,000 to more than one million, for both U.S. and international companies. The top two entries in each division are selected according to lowest total cases incidence rate, lowest fatalities plus lost workdays incidence rate and highest number of operational workhours reported.
The Division I winners (1 million or more midstream operational workhours) were Boardwalk Louisiana Midstream and runner-up Enterprise Products in the U.S. and Bahrain National Gas Co. and runner-up Saudi Aramco internationally.
The Division II winners (200,000-999,999 midstream operational workhours) were Phillips 66 and runner-up Cameron LNG in the U.S. and Phoenix Park Gas Processors Ltd. internationally.
The Division III winners (50,000-199,999 midstream operational workhours) were Superior Pipeline Co. and runner-up Red Cedar Gathering in the U.S.
The Division IV winners (less than 50,000 midstream operational workhours) were Pinnacle Midstream II and runner-up Aka Energy Group in the U.S.
In addition to the divisional award winners, EnLink Midstream received the GPA Midstream Chairman's Award for Safety Improvement for advancing its safety performance between 2019 and 2021.
GPSA recognized the following companies for its 2021 safety award: Applied Control, Archrock, Audubon Engineering Co., Barry D. Payne & Associates - Mangan Inc., Galileo Technologies Corp., Jasper Ventures, New Industries, NTACT Operations, Prime Controls, S2W Contracting and Transcend Solutions.
