Independent power producer GoldenPeaks Capital Holding Ltd. (GPC) and China National Building Material Group Corp. (CNBM) have agreed to jointly pursue 1 gigawatt (GW) in solar projects across Europe.
The announcement by GoldenPeaks on Sep. 30 came as the Europe-focused company looked to expand its capacity into western Europe, including Germany, Italy and Greece, according to a news release.
“In Germany we will look into several projects, but especially Bavaria, with its long-sun hours and relevant industry leaders, has high potential,” said Adriano Agosti, founder and president of GoldenPeaks. “By closely collaborating with CNBM and Triumph, we are confident to meet the goal of developing 1 GW of new projects on a yearly basis. Our combined expertise will allow us to unlock exceptional opportunities in the European market and beyond.”
CNBM subsidiary Triumph Science & Technology Group serves as GoldenPeaks’ engineering, procurement and construction partner.
More than 1 GW of new projects are in the development pipeline and set to head into construction in 2025, according to the release. Another 2.5 GW are under development for 2026 to 2027.
The plans build on a partnership CNBM’s Triumph and GPC established five years ago.
“We are proud of our joint successes of the past five years and now look forward to accelerating our growth together,” said Yuxian Zhou, chairman of CNBM. “This partnership underscores our shared vision of advancing clean energy on a global scale.”
