Glenfarne Energy Transition has selected Kiewit Energy Group as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the Texas LNG project to be located in Brownsville, Texas, Glenfarne said Nov. 4.
Texas LNG is a 4 million tonnes per annum liquefication and export terminal in the Port of Brownsville. Glenfarne, the developer, owner and operator of the project, said in September that the project had sold a sufficient amount of offtake to move forward with a final investment decision.
“Kiewit’s proposal, capability, and partnership vision for Texas LNG, as well as their significant execution and implementation expertise on the US Gulf Coast, made a substantial impression on our project team,” said Brendan Duval, CEO and founder of Glenfarne.
Texas LNG holds a permit from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the project, but the D.C. Court of Appeals, vacated the permits in September. The FERC is planning a new hearing on the permits.
