Ring Energy Inc. has added a new member to its executive team with the addition of James Parr as the company’s executive vice president of exploration and geosciences, the company announced Nov. 25.
Parr has over 30 years of experience as a petroleum geologist and leader in multiple energy organizations.
Parr has a Bachelor of Science in geological sciences from the University of Aston in England.
He previously served as Woodside Energy’s vice president of global new ventures before joining Ring in support of upstream M&A and core exploration and business development activities. Before Woodside, Parr was the head of growth, petroleum for BHP Petroleum until its merger with Woodside.
“[Parr] is a respected oil finder with an established history of successful capital allocation and portfolio management resulting in impactful, low-cost reserve additions and related positive contributions to the bottom line,” said Ring Energy Chairman and CEO Paul McKinney.
Ring hopes to leverage Parr’s technical background and industry experience to grow the company’s opportunity set of drilling prospects, McKinney said.
Parr will help to “further maximize the company’s cash flow, improve the balance sheet and drive increased value for our stockholders,” he said.
