Josh Stevens, vice president of finance at U.S. Energy Development Corp., is today’s featured Forty Under 40 honoree.

Stevens joined U.S. Energy in 2020 and, to date, his analyses and recommendations have impacted more than $100 million in acquisitions.

“Becoming a VP [vice president] by the age of 30 was a large accomplishment for me,” he said.

In addition to hard work and determination, Stevens credited learning experiences in the field to his success so far.

“At one of my previous positions, I was able to spend a lot of time in West Texas, which is unique for a finance guy,” he said. “This was an invaluable experience for me, as it allowed me to see how things actually work in the field, which is what drives the business.”

“Trying to learn about all aspects of the business and never saying ‘that is not my job,’” he explained further. “It is important to dig into all aspects of the business and see if there are areas for improvement through collaboration with your team.”

Based in Arlington, Texas, U.S. Energy is an E&P firm providing direct investments in energy through aggressive acquisition and development of oil and natural gas projects throughout North America. In his current role as vice president of finance, Stevens is responsible for providing the company with financial insights, key data points and analysis for potential A&D.
