Venture Global LNG (VG) can continue to ramp up operations at its Plaquemines liquefication facility in Louisiana, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) said in a letter issued Feb. 10.
The FERC granted permission for Venture Global to commission and introduce hazardous fluids into Plaquemines LNG Block 8, allowing the facility to begin production.
Venture Global has 18 blocks at Plaquemines, which began production in November 2024. Each block has two trains and draws 150 MMcf/d of natural gas at capacity. The FERC approved the seventh block for production in January.
At capacity, the Plaquemines plant will be able to produce 20 million metric tons a year. Venture Global expects the plant to be fully online in 2027.
