Recently in two instances (the September 2000 issue of Oil and Gas Investor and the Dain Rauscher Wessels Special Report that accompanied that issue), we mistakenly used the wrong trading symbol for the common stock of Swift Energy Co. of Houston. The correct symbol is SFY, trading on the NYSE. In fact, at press time, Swift was trading at an all-time high thanks to record performance in the first half of 2000, and the company's significant new oil discovery in New Zealand. Analysts in the September issue recommend Swift as one of the better-performing stocks to watch in the coming 12 months. The editors regret the error, and all the more so as Swift has been a key supporter of this magazine and its management for many years, professionally and personally.
