Here’s a snapshot of recent energy deals including Ring Energy’s acquisition of Stronghold in the Permian Basin for up to $465 million and the closing of Whiting and Oasis Petroleum’s $6 billion merger creating Chord Energy with a premier Williston Basin position plus back-to-back deals by Citizen Energy in the Midcontinent, Ranger Oil racks up six bolt-on acquisitions worth $110 million in the Eagle Ford Shale, Shell buys into Equinor’s North Platte deepwater project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and Ovintiv sells ‘noncore’ Bakken and Uinta assets for $250 million.
