Enbridge Inc. announced changes to executive leadership on Sept. 12 following the Dec. 31 retirements of Bob Rooney, executive vice president and chief legal officer, and Byron Neiles, executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
Effective Jan. 1, 2024, Reggie Hedgebeth will take on the roles of executive vice president of external affairs and chief legal officer. Laura Buss Sayavedra will assume the role of senior vice president of projects and chief administrative officer.
"I am pleased to welcome Reggie as he is an exceptional leader whose legal capabilities and experience in the upstream and downstream energy and financial services sectors will serve Enbridge well," said Greg Ebel, Enbridge’s president and CEO. “At the same time, I am pleased to expand Laura's accountabilities, increasing her already very diverse executive leadership contributions.”
In his new role, Hedgebeth will be responsible for legal services, ethics & compliance, corporate security, public affairs, communications & sustainability and aviation. Most recently, Hedgebeth served as chief legal officer with Capital Group and before that, was at Marathon Oil Corp. as its executive vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer.
Sayavedra will be responsible for human resources, real estate and supply chain management, in addition to her current oversight of projects, safety & reliability, environment, land & right-of-way. Previously at Enbridge, she oversaw the multi-year implementation of the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Sayavedra has also served as the vice president responsible for treasury and strategy for Spectra Energy Corp. and as chief financial officer of Spectra Energy Partners.
Rooney and Neiles will act as executive advisors to Enbridge in support of the transition of their roles and ongoing projects until their full retirement mid 2024.
