Permian E&P Diamondback Energy Inc. reported reducing its Scope 1 greenhouse-gas (GHG) intensity by 20% compared to their 2019 baseline, the company said in its Sept. 26 Corporate Sustainability Report for 2022.
The company also retired carbon credits to offset 1.5 million tons of CO2 emitted, which enabled them to achieve zero net Scope 1 emissions and moved them toward their 50% GHG reduction target by 2024.
Diamondback also used recycled water in 41% of their operations, exceeding their annual target by 28%. The company dedicated 8,896 personnel hours to key safety topics, up from 2,565 hours in 2021.

The report highlights Diamondback’s performance in these categories through December 31, 2022, discusses Diamondback’s sustainability targets and 2023 initiatives.
