As of Sept. 30, Coterra Energy Inc.'s senior vice president of production and operations Steven W. Linderman and senior vice president of the Marcellus business unit Phillip L. Stalnaker will retire from the company.
In addition, senior vice president and general counsel Francis B. Barron indicated his intention to retire in first-quarter 2023, a press release announced on Aug. 16.
"Their technical acumen and thoughtful nature have been instrumental on many fronts during their lengthy tenures in the organization," board chairman Dan Dinges said in the release of the retirees. "They have had a lasting impact on the success of Coterra, and we wish them both the very best in retirement."
In light of the executives' departures, vice president of operations Blake Sirgo was named senior vice president of operations to replace Linderman, effective Oct. 1. Sirgo, who has been with the company for 14 years, will be responsible for environmental, health and safety, marketing and production aspects of operations.
Marcellus business unit operations manager Gary Hlavinka was promoted to vice president of the Marcellus business unit to fill Stalnaker's role, also effective Oct. 1. With a 33-year career at the company, Hlavinka spent the last 13 years taking charge of engineering, production and day-to-day relationships with the Williams companies, who procure Coterra's Marcellus natural gas.
Finally, assistant general counsel Adam Vela will replace Barron as vice president of general counsel upon Barron's departure. Vela has been with Coterra for 17 years, where he was responsible for litigation and advising business units on legal matters regarding operations, leasing, royalties and safety, among others.
"I am always pleased when we have the opportunity to promote key leaders from within Coterra into larger, more visible roles, and I have the utmost confidence they will serve Coterra well in their new roles," president and CEO Tom Jorden added.
