ConocoPhillips Co. CFO Don E. Wallette Jr. is set to retire in August, ending his 39-year career with the Houston-based independent E&P.
In a statement on May 20 commenting on Wallette’s retirement, effective Aug. 31, ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance said: “As a highly valued member of our company’s executive leadership team, Don played an important role in guiding our successful transformation as an independent exploration and production company.”
In conjunction with the retirement, ConocoPhillips also said William (Bill) L. Bullock Jr. had been named to serve as Wallette’s replacement.
Bullock joined ConocoPhillips in 1986 and currently oversees the company’s Australia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Qatar, Malaysia and China operations as president of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East group. He is set to assume the new role of executive vice president and CFO on Sept. 1.
Wallette began his career in 1981 at Phillips Petroleum Co. as a staff drilling engineer in Houston.
Over his nearly 40-year career, he held positions in major project development in England and managed Phillips’ U.K. Southern Gas Basin business. He also served as Oklahoma region manager for the midstream business; manager of corporate planning and development; and production and process/transportation manager in Norway.
Wallet had been named executive vice president, finance, commercial and CFO of ConocoPhillips in February 2016 after previously serving as the company’s executive vice president, commercial, business development and corporate planning.
