Civitas Resources Inc. has appointed Lloyd W. Helms Jr. to its board of directors, effective immediately, the Denver-based company said Feb. 24.
Civitas' board is now comprised of 10 directors, nine of whom are independent members, Civitas said in a press release.
Helms holds over 15 years of executive management experience and over 40 years of oil and gas industry experience, the company said.
He most recently served with EOG Resources, where he held several leadership roles including president from October 2021 to May 2024; COO from December 2017 to December 2023; and executive vice president of E&P from August 2013 to December 2017.
"Billy is a fantastic addition to our board and brings a 40-year track record of operational and technical expertise,” said Civitas Board Chair Wouter van Kemp. “He has successfully led operating teams, creating sustainable efficiencies through proven operating practices that can be rapidly applied across multiple basins."
On Feb. 24 Civitas announced a $300 million deal in the Midland Basin, adding 19,000 net acres and approximately 130 future Midland Basin development locations.
